The advent of 3D printing is revolutionizing a number of industries. However, while unit costs remain high and physical size restrictions apply, traditional methods of prototyping and casting remain relevant.
Through associations, Obsidian can provide 3D printing services for most geological and other models. In addition, for specific geometries, prototypes can be constructed, moulded and castings produced in a variety of materials. These can be done at significantly larger dimensions than 3D printing and in instances where multiple castings are required, the unit cost is substantially lower.
